TripleOKLaw has won the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team of the Year award at the African Legal Awards 2023.
The African Legal Awards announced this year’s winners at an event on 1st September 2023 that saw the region’s best lawyers feted for their accomplishments. This was the 10th edition of the awards which are hosted by Law.com International, the Corporate Counsel Association of South Africa and Africa Legal.
The firm beat 11 firms including 3 international firms in its category to win the accolade. Notable is that the win is the second consecutive win for the firm’s dispute resolution team which is one of East Africa’s largest dispute resolution teams. The team is also well-regarded for its portfolio, strong track record and bench strength.

TripleOKLaw LLP was shortlisted in 8 other categories namely Partner of the Year – East Africa where Managing Partner John M Ohaga received an honourable mention and African Law Firm of the Year, East Africa. Displaying the regional standard for its full-service offering, the Telecommunications, Media & Technology team was a finalist for the fourth year in a row.
The Corporate & Commercial team was a finalist in three categories: Capital Markets Team of the Year (Medium Size), Competition and Regulatory Team of the Year and Restructuring Team of the Year. Property and Construction Category featured the Real Estate, Banking and Finance team as a finalist.
