New Zealand: On 23 May, the Government introduced the next step in its phased approach to resource management reform. The Resource Management (Freshwater and Other Matters) Amendment Bill (Bill) marks the first round of amendments to the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA). The Bill makes targeted changes to the RMA and national direction while new replacement legislation is being developed.
